Jin Hoogerwerf is a self-taught Dutch media composer and multi-instrumentalist, known for his experimental spirit and hands-on approach to composition. His strengths lie in crafting immersive atmospheres and building sonic worlds that draw listeners in, as well as writing melodies that evoke emotion and tell compelling stories.

His notable work in theater includes ‘Hoge Bomen’ a coproduction between Theater Bellevue and Het Nationale Theater, which earned him a MIMA Nomination, ‘Theater Na De Dam’ a production by Stadstheater Zoetermeer and ‘De Kat Is Een Hond’ part of Beginnings by Frascati.

He also did commercial work for clients such as ‘Rijkswaterstaat’, ‘Arla’ , ‘Spliethoff’, ‘Kabel Telecom’ and ‘Incentro’.

Other film projects include short film ‘NOVA’, which won the Audience Award at the Festival du Court Métrage Scientifique de Riom in 2023. The short film ‘Onomkeerbaar’ which premiered on streaming service New Faith Network. And the short film ‘Super Duper Mega Fan’ which premiered on the NFF in 2024 and won the Best Student Film at the Noorderlijk Film Festival. Additionally, the documentary ‘Barriers’, which follows the story of Dutch hurdling athlete Koen Smet on his path to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and was premiered during the Campusdoc Film Festival in Utrecht.

In 2024, he launched a new project called Tameion, a creative outlet centered around piano music. His debut album ‘Baram’ marks the start.

Jin began his musical journey on the piano, but quickly discovered a passion for the drums. He went on to graduate from the Conservatorium of Haarlem, where he majored in Drums.

Alongside his work as a composer, Jin remains active as a session musician.
